This list contains the top 10 feel good movies of all time (in Aviyal’s opinion) If you feel like some movies are left out, feel free to comment about those movies.
10. TOY STORY 3
Director: Lee Unkrich
Main Cast: Tom Hanks, Tim Allen
Toy story 3 is a kid’s movie which made men cry. While certainly Toy story 3 is not the best movie in the series, it certainly had one of the best climaxes of all time. Toy story ending was just beautiful and perfect, it moved everyone to tears and gave a really good ending to the trilogy (before Pixar undid that with a fourth installment).
IMDb: 8.2
9. THE PRINCESS BRIDE
Director: Rob Reiner
Main cast: Cary Elwes, Robin Wright, Mandy Patinkin.
How to take the cheesiest story and actors ever, and make a beautiful, entertaining, humorous, feel-good movie? This is how. The princess bride is a fairy tale adventure movie. It was released in 1987. I suggest you watch this whenever you are feeling down or depressed, it will definitely make you smile. All the side characters are really good which makes it so much fun to watch the movie. Inigo Montaya is a standout character in the movie. The sword fight between Inigo Montaya and Westley is the cherry on the top.
PS. This whole movie is a meme.
IMDb: 8.1
8. THE BREAKFAST CLUB
Director: John Hughes
Main Cast: Molly Ringwald, Judd Nelson, Ally Sheedy, Emilio Estevez
The movie is about a conversation between an athlete, a basket case, a princess and a criminal. This movie is quite fun to watch. 4 school students get detention and spend a day together. That’s it, that’s the whole story but the conversations are so interesting that it became one of the greatest movies ever made.
IMDb: 7.8
7. COOL HAND LUKE
Director: Stuart Rosenberg
Main Cast: Paul Newman, Glen Beck
Cool Hand Luke is just one of the coolest movies ever made. Luke is a guy who everyone aspires to be, and the damn Luke smile! I am 100% sure that you will be thinking about the luke smile for weeks after watching the movie. Luke is already a cool character and Paul Newman’s stellar performance made him an insanely cool character.
IMDb: 8.1
6. THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION
Director: Frank Darabont
Main Cast: Morgan Freeman, Tim Robbins
This is the second movie in the list which is set in prison, Feel good movies in prison? The Shawshank redemption has some great characters and incredible direction. Morgan Freeman's voiceover is top notch. The thing that made the movie so special is the relationship between Red and Andy (and Rita Hayworth), it is just beautiful.
IMDb: 9.3
5. SUPER DELUXE
Director: Thiagarajan kumararaja
Main cast: Too big but great cast
I don’t know if everyone will accept it as a feel-good movie but it certainly is one in my opinion. The main reason this movie made into the top 5 is because of the message it carried. Everyone must watch this movie at least once. Don’t wanna spoil anything about this movie, you have to watch it. TK’s exceptional direction and Yuvan's music makes it 10x better. Every single cast member gave their best to the movie.
IMDb: 8.4
4. IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE
Director: Frank Capra
Main Cast: James Stewart
If you are ever having a bad time in your life watch this. This movie shows us how lucky we got a life to live and how beautiful life is. It was released in 1946 and the message it delivered is still applicable. The movie is also fresh till now, it never feels like we are watching a movie which was made in 1946.
After watching the movie, you will really start to believe that it is a wonderful life.
IMDb: 8.6
3. SPIRITED AWAY
Director: Hayao Miyazaki
Spirited Away is certainly the most different kind of movie in this list. You can’t rate it, more than a movie it is an experience. This movie was made by Studio Ghibli. I would recommend watching all of their movies. Spirited away is a journey which should be experienced by everyone. In the end it just leaves a void in you and makes you sit and stare at the screen hours after the movie is over.
IMDb: 8.6
2. ARUVI
Director: Arun Prabhu Purushothaman
Main Cast: Aditi Balan, Pradeep Anthony, Anjali Varadhan
Aruvi is one of the best movies ever made in Tamil cinema. Aruvi makes you think about yourself and the society you live in. Aruvi shows the beauty of the world. Vedhanth Bharadwaj and Bindu Malini’s music makes the movie 100 times better. Aruvi has a peculiar start to the movie and unbelievably good ending. The relationship between Aruvi and Emily makes us long for a friend like Emily. Aditi Balan, Pradeep Antony and all others gave out probably their career best acting. Aruvi is a must watch.
IMDb: 8.5
1. INTO THE WILD

MASTERPIECE. That’s it. No words can describe this movie other than calling it a masterpiece. This movie is a mental journey for anyone who watches it. It changes you as a person. This is the movie that impacted me the most in my life. My views on life completely changed after watching this movie. Every single soul in this world must experience this movie before dying. Into the wild is one of a kind. Still can't believe this is a true story.

I know list of these kinds are highly subjective and all......but ur entire list is invalidated the moment u didn't include the gem, the masterpiece, the gold standard of feel good movie.....THE ROOM (2003)...legit that movie made me feel good (as in if this is considered as a movie, then i can also be a movie director).....
ReplyDeletePS, how come toy story 3 is in there but lion king is not....how come into the wild is in there but easy rider isn't.
U were saying ur perspective ...here what written is there perspective.....not everyone have a same taste and moreover ur thoughts can also be invalidated. It's not written to say to the world that these are the best ....these are these bloggers top 10 .ok
Delete@trollwarlord you really think easy rider is feel good?
Delete@tommy Thank you for defending us but he is just kidding don't mind him
DeleteNinga sonna seri vaathiyarey ....@porvaal ...Pam pam pam paaaaaaa.....
DeleteI strongly agree with the lion king which still makes me cry when mufasa dies, and why didnt pursuit of happiness is in the list and silver linings playbook is also one damn feel good movie. And if we were just talk about making us feel good means then for me padayappa tops the list
ReplyDeleteHello porvaal here
DeleteDon't think Pursuit of the happiness make the cut imo. Whenever I think about lion King I cant get over the mufasa's death so didn't add it. Padayappa is my favourite too but with that logic people argue that we should include master and viswasam no? Don't wanna do that
